Unfortunately could not give zero stars because rating system is 1-5.
Please do NOT GO HERE ! Went to 5 other places and all the prices are lower.
Go to Rayos in Anderson on Church street or anywhere else!! Brand new last 5-8 months.
They are so rude and the prices are a joke.
Unnecessarily high prices, but some people wake up to screw others, so i am not sure why I am surprised by the owners attitude.
What can we do as a group/community to get Madison county Sheriff to STOP USING THEM. MY CAR was not towed but after I read others experiences and my husbands experience in trying to get a few parts I am disgusted.

This place is a racket! Why would Madison Co. Sheriff use such a disgusting place?! Cash only, no set fee list posted! No recourse. No choice but to pay what they demand!? My 20yr old son was pulled over, 3 officers & 2 hours on his bumper later they tow his truck because he couldn't show proof of insurance & his paper plates were expired. Baker's Towing shows up, takes the truck.
That was a Thursday night before a holiday. The license branch was closed until the following Tuesday. I called Baker's Monday morning to see how much it would be to get the truck out Tuesday. The man who answered was rather snippy, barking "its 215 today, goes up $30 a day. Cash only". Ok, so that would make it $245 on Tue, right?...nope. Tue comes, we call ahead, the man is again very short with answers when asked what he needed to get the truck. He said "a licensed driver and proof of insurance". We eventually had to make a run to the license branch for additional paperwork and returned to Baker's a 2nd time.
All the paperwork in hand and $245, and proceeds to tell me "No, its $275." I repeat the conversation we had Monday on the phone, he denied speaking to me at all. I asked to see a "fee list", so he grabs his hand written receipt and starts poking it with every statement, shouting at me the different fees he wrote down. I again argue i was told $215 on Monday, so it's $245 today...he grabs his calendar off the wall and starts smacking it for every day the truck was at the yard. He's shouting and spitting, then throws the calendar at us on the counter and shouts "ITS $275!" So we had no choice, we paid what he said.
He was still unable to explain the mess of math and scribbled out "gate fee" on that receipt. NO FEES POSTED ANYWHERE FOR A CUSTOMER TO CONFIRM. You are at their mercy. There's no way this place is honest! Why else would you have a CASH BUSINESS. Shady, shady place and shame on Madison Co for using such a place.

We're extremely nice and helpful. I was getting a car out for a family member and they were very kind and understanding. They also did not charge too much to get the vehicle out. I bought tires from here once before and I ended up having to return because I got the wrong size, and he gave me my full refund. Good people!

I can't believe that the Madison County Sherriff Department would use this business. A friend of mine was killed in an auto accident and her car was towed to this facility. When I went to clean out her car, the owner said since the keys weren't on the wall that they must be in the car - they weren't. When he asked one of the staff if he knew where the key was, he did not ask for the make or model. Instead, he asked for the keys "to that fatality car." I was shocked he would be that blunt. No keys were found even though the police report states they were left with Baker's Towing.
Months later, there are now letters coming in to my friend demanding money. The man very clearly knows what has occurred and yet is still harassing her parents even though the leasing company has taken care of the payment already, Baker's Towing is still trying to get additional cash. This is not a reputable or respectful company to work with, instead they're trying to take advantage of a grieving family. The Sherriff's Department should look elsewhere as should you.
