This place was recommended to me by a couple of friends, I figured, ok...easy to get on scale and they pay higher than most was what I was told...not true. Getting on the scale was ridiculous and had to be boosted a couple of times, granted it was a long trailer and though they were giving me good direction as I couldn't see the fall offs, it was hairy. Had to roll through the edge of the scrap pile...glad I didn't punch out a tire or two. Then I told them, and it was obvious, I had primarily aluminum including an old john boat...still only was paid for scrap. Is that because I'm an older female? The 40 bucks merely paid for the gas to get there and back. I'll go to Oxford next time...may not get paid any better but at least it'll be easier.

Don't go expecting not to get dirty. Boots are a good bet. If you are able call ahead for pricing on whatever you are planning on bringing. They stay busy so it's not uncommon to not get an answer on busy days. They have been in business for a long while so they must be doing it right! Friendly enough but your not going to make friends. Pays cash. Checks may be written for $$$$$ high amounts.

Public service announcement: IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE CLOSED PLEASE POST NEEDED INFORMATION ON GOOGLE, LEAVE A VOICE MESSAGE ON THE BUSINESSES AUTOMATED DIRECTORY THAT PICKS UP WHEN A CUSTOMER CALLS, OR WHERE CUSTOMERS CAN EASILY SEE BEFORE FUEL AND TIME IS WASTED.
We have drove here for 2 days in a row just to pull up and to find that the gate is closed and locked. If the employees would answer the phone (the employees have been there both days), or better yet, leave customers a little side note on your businesses automated directory stating you're closed and when you'll be open again maybe we would have known what we needed to know before a significant amount of our time was wasted. Do better, this isn't a good way to keep customers coming back.

I do a decent amount of scraping from time to time, and after moving back into the Talladega AL area I thought heck I'll go to munford haddent been in 6yrs with a decent load of scrap. I did not find it worth going. I will definitely travel the extra miles to do as I have been doing over the years. I cant trust someone who will try and avoid giving your ticket.
