This scrap yard offers various good and bad prices, as do many other yards. Shopping around for the best price is part of getting scrap metal, and I don’t fault this yard for giving some lower and some higher prices than competitions. I fault this yard because of the unkind and rude nature of the staff. There is a man who works there nearly every day and has no intention of helping anyone. Before I knew how to scrap correctly he would have me dump all my metal into one pile and pay me the price of light iron for my aluminum and heavy iron, this is the definition of taking advantage of younger people. Beyond this, this person has made mr and others wait for over an hour at his yard while working on excavators and one time he actually took so long he closed after while I was waiting there to scrap my metal!! This is the only yard near me and I had to stop going because of how unfair and straight up rude the workers are here.

I live in Clinton,CT. I went to Nichols with 232 pounds of unstripped # 10-12 THHN wire. They offered me .60 a pound. I called Alderman Dow they offered me 1.60 a pound. Well worth the ride to New Haven for an extra 232 dollars. What a rip off Nichols is. Obviously don't know what they're doing. I for one won't go back there again.

Facility is cleaner than other yards and the gentleman behind the counter is very easy to work with.
