They have less and less cars here anymore. And everything is packed in so tight you literally have to climb over other cars to get to the cars you need parts from. Nevermind the overgrowth of grass, weeds etc. Plus if you need anything from under a car (suspension, etc) it's not gonna happen. Only good thing is that parts are reasonably priced and the woman in the office is really nice and helpful.

I went there to get rid of some metal and batteries from cleaning out my yard and I had no idea what I was suppose to do or how it worked and the women in the front office helped me and explained to me the different prices and how its weighed etc Definitely will be taking all my future junk there! I had a 2000 ford mercury with no title sitting in my back yard. I wanted it gone and called Lock Junk Cars and spoke with Mike. I expressed to him that I did not need to be paid, if he would take the car away that was good enough for me. He insisted that he does not like that idea and based on the information I have him he would come and take the car and insist he pay me for it! He came, in the rain at the time we agreed to and gave me $200! I was excited that the car was out of my yard. The $200 was a bonus.!! Very nice guy and easy to deal with.

Very bad facility. First You park on the street & go for check in. You need to back up from the street on the scale. After scaling make a left turn then again left turn then again left turn then wait for your turn to back up on dock. There is only 1 open dock. Once you get turn you need to back up from the street to the dock. You gonna see huge pot holes every where all streets when you gonna make left turns to go to dock. The dock is on the corner of the street from where you get enter on the scale. But you need to make left turns to go there. After loading you need to go on the scale again. Road is so busy. You have to block the traffic & go on the scale twice. They put nails on the floor. It's not worth it. They damage the floor. I just give you advice just avoid this place. They load you just in 15 to 20 mins. But it takes long time from check in to check out.

Too tight place. Have to do scale first. For that have to do backup from the street. Then go all the way back to the dock on the other side of the building. Loading takes almost 1.5 Hrs . After that again do backup on the scale.No overnight parking. No clean restrooms.

I have sold all my scrap aluminum and scrapped aluminum mag wheels for the last 14 years here because it's an aluminum mill and pays the highest prices. But you have to know everything is weighed on a tractor trailer scale so you need over 100 lbs aluminum to sell there. Also you may have to wait for 30 minutes or an hour until the tractor trailer scale is available for you to come in.

Avoid at all costs. Save yourself the drive! If you need a part, make sure you're willing to pay 2 to 3x as much FOR A USED PART.  For what they are asking, you can buy brand new or refurbished.  Deerfield is the real definition of a junkyard. Junk! They tried to charge me $450 for 2 rusty pulleys, a corroded tensioner that needed bearings, and a rusted-out damper. Susan had the audacity to text me stating she will no longer do business with me because  I wouldn't purchase a part they pulled that was 1. Clearly incorrect 2. Tried to charge me another $100 more than the part cost BRAND NEW (flywheel) and I'm fine with all of that.  Read their bad reviews, because they have people pumping their reviews to get them out of bad standing. Mike senior wasn't bad to work with, and Junior was a rock star. The guy that rebuilt the trans should have his own shop.  Don't waste your time with lea.  Susan is just there, don't pay her any mind.  I put $1, 000 deposit down on a trans on April 20th.  My only problem was senior stated he would have my trans done in a week, in the end, it ended up being June 9th, never called to explain that, and when I called it seemed to be an issue. Mike then stated that the trans they thought was good was bad and that they had to order a kit. The price they initially provided changed.  I called back sometime later and he stated the kit was on backorder and they were waiting.  I purchased an Eaton trans, sae2 bell housing, and shifter. Paid in full on June 21st (two months!!!).  Also, stated I'd have a 1-year warranty, but backtrack at the time of pick up.  No problem  They are upset they couldn't overcharge and bully me into buying the wrong and bad parts.  Again, paid in full for what was right and that's a problem with them.  Beware!

After reading the "about us" page on this website I was fully confident that they would be more than willing to assist me in locating a discontinued truck part. Much to my surprise I called and spoke to Susan who was nice on the phone. However when I asked if they had my specific part, she responded very quickly, did you try Pardos? They brag in their website that they are in affiliation with a national parts locator service but didn't offer that to me at all and when I asked they said no. Very disappointed with the level of customer service offered.

0 stars if I could. Charged me .15 cents per pound for dirty brass that was mostly copper. They basically stole $1 per pound due to "plastic handles", plastic handles that weigh nothing and melt away when they get burned down. And there was more copper on this so called dirty brass than there was brass! I was giving them a deal and they still bent me over. Highly recommend going to Raffs where you will get the right price for your metals and higher rates too.

BE CAREFUL!! . Out of all Manheim auction Skyline is the only auction that allowing any junk on their facility. Their condition report is worthless. They not announcing frame damage or rotted frame. Very unethical business practices. They lie about the condition of the vehicles they list. A friend of mine bid on a vehicle I'd been looking for, for months through this company. The vehicle was listed as being in "excellent" condition. When the vehicle finally arrived it was barely in average condition if not fair condition. The passenger window doesn't even roll down and the bumper needs to be painted along with a number of other mechanical issues. This is not a vehicle I would describe as being in "excellent" condition. I'd highly recommend taking your business elsewhere as this business fails to instill basic integrity into it's business practices.

I have trust issues when it it comes to money especially when you are being payed with a check. I called many places but Modern Day Rec....gave me the best offer for my car. Overall, a very decent experience. A couple days late picking up the vehicle, but it wasn’t a major inconvenience to us, thankfully! (Weekend request.) Everyone I spoke to was super nice. I figured they got behind, so our p/u was delayed a little bit. We also live in a very rural area, so I understand if schedules may not allow for certain timeframes to be honored. Scheduled to have a vehicle picked up at my home. When scheduling I informed them it was not my vehicle (it was a family members) and I did not have the title. I asked if that was going to be an issue. I was told no not at all as long as I have the registration. I said that's it. Yes just the registration and key. Ok no problem! Wait a week when I wanted this junk gone months ago. They show up and won't take it because the license doesn't match. I made all this clear I was junking it for someone else. So now it still sits. I would have arranged differently or used another company and not wasted anyone's time, If I had been given proper info. This company is clearly not all on same page!

I went there on July 2nd, it was my first time at any scrap yard, I was told this was the one to go to. I looked like a lost puppy, but everyone there was helpful. I brought a small load, just to see how it went and it was a great experience. It has made me want to do more business with them. Prices seem very fair or better then fair, from what I’ve seen. Will be visiting them again!
