This is by far the best yard in or around B’ham......on the same day we took off a load of batteries car hoods and other aluminum to a different yard the experience at other yard was absolutely horrible!!! No communication AT ALL to go out in the yard you had better have 4 wheel drive or know how to drive like you do have 4 wheel drive & the prices where ridiculous!!! So we decided to try CMC recycling and by golly they was on top of it VERY friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful!! They have definitely earned our business! Thank you Quint & Alan for your help!!

I sell scrap metal every day & some days I may sell 2-3 loads. I have sold my scrap to every scrap yard in the Birmingham area and also in Shelby County but today was the first time I've sold to CMC. Honestly, I thought this scrap yard was for commercial use only, but a guy at another yard told me they buy from the public also so we decided to check them out. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled in! They were very quick about getting us in and out, the yard was very clean, the people were friendly, and they pay more than the other yards in the area! They also informed me on how I can receive more money through coupons, incentive programs, and promotions! I was extremely happy with their service and I had a great experience with them so I will definitely be using CMC Recycling to sell my scrap metal in the future! ☺

Pros: Great selection! Found one of the two parts we needed. Nice, organized setup with plenty of room to work. Amazing website. Cons: Masks required in an open-air building when the state mandate was lifted. Masks are not complimentary, but $1 and cannot be refused for medical exemptions. Very unsafe. Employees wear masks improperly with noses exposed. No alternatives for medical mask exemption, like outdoor entrance to yard- VERY unsafe for medical conditions that except from masking. Cashier spoke a mixture of Spanish and English to English-speaking customers.

Great prices, easy to find the vehicles you are looking for. I was happy it was all gravel so it didn’t hurt my back laying down. Only issue I ran into was checking out, they took way too long to try to identify which parts came off the vehicle. They need to understand basic car parts more better.

I purchased a used transmission in November 2020. Was sent a bad transmission. Knox took care of the problem. Picked up the old(core)transmission. Was told core charge would go back to my card after they picked it up. Contacted Scott several times to take care of the situation. It’s May 25, 2021 and I still haven’t got my refund. Tired of calling to see why I haven’t got it. So, I’m posted this review to let people know I didn’t get my “Core” return fee as stated.

Yep straight con games.Then get rude if you don’t like it. Selling something and say I don’t know if it works are not. If it don’t work or don’t fit you’re not going to get your money back we give a store credit.It’s a junk yard who needs a store credit you can’t buy the part that you need a this time. I purchased a radio from a wrecked car same year. I left the store and realized my radio and that one looked the same but was a different brand. Well they were closed on Sunday and Monday was a holiday I goes back on Tuesday and tell them this not the right radio he start pointing at all the signs hanging up in the top of the building. I told them I’m filing my complaint with the attorney general office, know one should be ripped out like this in these times or anytimes.I gave a 1 star because it’s the only way to write a review. I saw another costumer upset but didn’t really pay attention. Don’t waste your time and money here.
