I was told by another salvage co that he would pay me the best for my Ford which was still running & had 3 catalytics. It's hard to get anyone to answer the phone there & it seems he closes whenever he wants. He moved his location South about a half mile and it was the worst mess I've ever seen. I called after hours and to my surprise someone answered! He was friendly and very helpful. They were much better than Delaware Auto Salvage, who I called right before them and was very displeased at their customer service. He did say call back the next day to talk to someone about the part I needed. He told me to ask for Angel and again nothing but great service and such a reasonable price for everything I needed. He answered all my questions I asked without sounding rude or annoyed like Delaware did. My mom was also impressed about how nice and friendly they were. If I ever need a car part again Shuster's is the first place I'm gonna contact.

Well let me reiterate that this place is a salvage yard so I'm not sure what I was expecting as far as customer service goes but it was a poor experience from the jump so I'm going to stop there. I want to say that I did not do any business with this company simply because once I was quoted a sky high price and I made a respectful fair counted offer with am explanation but was not hung up on not once but twice. It may be a great organization I just wish I had the opportunity to find out.. Good luck everyone

Just stopped by there, I asked if I could look through salvage cars for car manuals. Was told no immediately. Then I was angrily explained to that someone else came by and wanted to use the car manuals for their business. He wasn't going to sell them for the other guy to use either. Not sure why he would rather trash manuals instead of selling them. He seemed upset at me for asking. Maybe I caught the guy on a bad day but he seemed unnecessarily rude and suspicious of my intent.

I had never sold scrap before today, so I didn't know exactly what to expect. Anyway, the staff were friendly. If you've never sold scrap before, here's how you do it. If you've got it in your car or truck, just drive up onto the scale (wait your turn, of course). It took me a bit of waiting and asking for help to figure that out. The scale operator will give you a receipt. From there, you'll drop your haul wherever the inspector tells you, weigh your car on the way out and hit up the cashier to get paid. Anyway I made a few bucks for dropping off an old dishwasher. We'll worth it!

It's embarrassing and frustrating anytime anyone runs out of gas but to make it worse I ran out of gas JUST PAST the weigh in area. Meaning that I was now blocking dozens of bigger trucks from completing their task. An employee was kind enough to bring over a gas can and give me some gas and even radioed for me to go in front of all the people whom I had just blocked moments before and get rid of my load so I could make it to a gas station. I even had a different helping me offload as to expedite the process. They went above and beyond and I really appreciate what they did for me.

Why junkyards and salvage yards do not buy boats or yachts?

When a boat or yacht is no longer a boat or a yacht, it becomes a boat part, boat accessory, boat hull, boat engine, boat motor. When whatever remains from the boat can be used on another boat of the same model and year either as replacement parts or for restoration into working order then that piece of metal is still considered valuable even if it is boat scrap.

Good examples of boat scrap are boat parts that include boat hulls, boat engines, boat motors, boat propellers and boat accessories. The reason why most salvage yards do not buy boats or yachts is because there are only certain types of parts that can be used on other boats while the rest of the boat scrap is boat scrap that cannot be used for anything or boat scrap that has no value whatsoever.

When boat owners want to get rid of their boat, instead of simply dumping it somewhere, they sell boat parts with boat hulls, boat engines and boat propellers especially because these boat parts are most likely still in working order.

If salvage yards were to buy boat instead of boat parts, they would have to pay boat prices for boat scrap which is boat scrap that does not have any value.

Another reason why junkyards don't buy boats or yacht is the towing method. Most small boats are made of fiberglass, wood, thin metals or a combination of all. Being able to carry or transport a broken boat will require a special towing bed that most junkyards don't have, also the amount of metal that they will be able to extract will be minimum and more expensive to remove and separate. There are just a few things they can recover from them, the engine, propellers and some wiring.

If someone were to sell boat scrap at boat yards, the boat owner will most likely be offered a fraction of what the boat was sold for brand new. The difference between buying boat and buying boat parts is that boat boat parts have a guaranteed value whereas boat scrap is the boat equivalent of trash.

If you have boat scrap, consider putting it to use by donating it as boat propellers for boats in need or as boat parts for boat restoration. Even with only half the boat weight intact, your boat can still be sold as a boat hull for boat restoration.

What boat owners do not realize is that boat yards and boat salvage yards have a plan in place to recycle boat scrap into boat parts that can be used for boat restoration or replacement parts. Even when boat scrap does not have any value, it still has value to someone with boat restoration projects in mind.

When boat owners contact boat yards or boat salvage yards to sell boat, boat owners can expect to get boat scrap prices for boat scrap because boat scraps are considered worthless metal. As soon as boat owners know that they do not want to spend boat money on boat parts but instead would rather donate their boat to charity or put the boat up for sale by owner, they should be prepared to receive boat scrap prices for boat scrap.

When boat owners compare boat parts to boat accessories or boat equipment, they will notice a difference in price and quality. Boat equipment is the least expensive boat part but it also has a lower quality compared to other boat parts such as boat engine and boat propellers that are much more expensive but much higher in quality.
